The Team
At Cotham Opticians, our team is made up of highly qualified and experienced professionals who are passionate about delivering the best possible care. From thorough eye examinations to expert frame fittings, we pride ourselves on creating a friendly, welcoming environment where every patient feels valued. Claire earned a BSc Hons in Optometry from the University of Manchester in 2007 and is a member of the College of Optometrists. She also serves as a committee member on the AVON Local Optometric Committee. Outside of work, she has a passion for travel.
Beth began her career in Optics over 30 years ago. Her wealth of experience in managing community practices means she has served generations of customers over the years.
As a qualified dispensing optician, Beth values the time that independently owned practices are able to give their patients, giving the time to find real, longstanding solutions for visual needs. Beth enjoys spending time on her horse and volunteering for several local charitable committees including the Saltford Santa dash.
Laura enjoys helping people make the best decisions for their eyecare needs and particularly enjoys dispensing protective sport solutions for children and adults. Out of work Laura will often be found at the rugby club supporting her family and training with the ladies team.
Rachel has worked locally for 35 years. Rachel specialises in Myopia management, Dry Eye Management and treatment for Visual Stress. Rachel has provided emergency eye care services for the NHS since the pandemic, via the Primary Eyecare Service. She enjoys running, walking, gardening and cooking, but don't ask about the croquembouche!
James brings a wealth of experience to Cotham Opticians, having served as a Senior Lecturer in Optometry at university, trained Dispensing Opticians, and has worked as a Dispensing Optician for many years in practice both in the UK and internationally. Outside of work, James enjoys spending quality time with his family, embracing the great British outdoors, and staying active in the world of triathlon now primarily as a dedicated coach rather than a GB athlete.
Liam holds a BSc Hons in Biological Sciences and is a qualified dispensing optician with a passion for education and eye care, and has experience lecturing at the UWE eye clinic, running workshops for Optometry Students. Outside of work, Liam enjoys bouldering, foraging, cooking, and spending quality time with his cats.
Nell is probably the first face you will see when you visit us and loves getting to know our customers. Nell enjoys cooking, spending time outdoors, and has a love for dogs.
